What do I need to get started?

To get started with Oxebiz, you need to be a developer who is comfortable with using the MySQL database.  Being a PHP developer is useful, but not essential, as ASP.Net applications with a PHP Oxebiz back end have been developed.  You also need a working installation of PHP and MySQL, and a web server that can support PHP, such as Apache.

What does Oxebiz do for me 'out of the box'?

  • The ability to create 'content types' and edit content via a rich-text editor.
  • The ability to manage workflow and export content.
  • PHP functions to output the content to your website.
  • A membership management system that allows you to manage companies, addresses, and contacts, together with PHP functions to help with login and registration via the front end.
  • A mini-CRM system
  • A sample front-end website

What's the fast way to get started?

One of the best ways to get started is to download the source code and work through the tutorial (included in the online documentation).

How long does it take to be productive with Oxebiz?

You can be productive within an hour with Oxebiz.  The main aim of Oxebiz is to store content in a safe place, allowing the developer to concentrate on the web page templates.  Once about three function calls have been learned, you can retreive content from the database for display on your web site.
